Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Kyrgystan and Myanmar have been officially accepted as members of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC).

The Indonesian Constitutional Courts chief as president of AACC, Arief Hidayat said during the AACC Board of Members Meeting here on Friday "as it was agreed by all members just now and confirmation had been given these two countries are now officially members of the AACC."

Arief said Kyrgystans Constitutional Court chief Mukambet Kasymalie sent the application for becoming the 15th member of AACC on July 18, 2014.

Myanmar meanwhile submitted the application to become the 16th member of the AACC on August 4, 2015, he said.

Arief said 12 AACC members present agreed to accept Kyrgystan and Myanmas as the new AACC members.

"So, the two countries can follow the next AACC congress in Bali, Indonesia in April 2016," he said.

The Indonesian constitutional court has been hosting of the AACC Board of Members Meeting and an International Symposium on Constitutional Complaints since Thursday. The event at Hotel Fairmont is scheduled to last until Monday (August 17). ***2***
