Gianyar, Bali (Antara News)- President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo distributed 2,364 social assistance cards, comprising 1,565 Indonesia Health Cards (KIS), 393 Indonesia Smart Cards (KIP), and 375 Prosperous Family Saving Cards (KKS), for Tulikup villagers in Gianyar District, Bali Province, Sunday.

The head of state also handed out 31 social assistant cards for people with heavy disabilities (ASPDP).

"These cards must be utilized for something useful," President Jokowi said when symbolically presenting the social benefit cards called "magic cards" at Tulikup square.

The government will take back the cards if recipients use the cards not for the specific purposes, he stated.

"If the cards are used to buy pulsa (cellular credit refills), the cards will be revoked," Jokowi added.

On the occasion, the president also handed over five bicycles by holding a quiz.

President Director of the healthcare division of the Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) Fahmi Idris thanked President Jokowi for distributing social benefit cards whenever he visits a region.

The government has stopped fuel subsidy and replaced the subsidy with social benefit cards directly distributed to low income people.

Fahmi Idris hoped that the value of the cards would be increased when the global economy improves in 2016. ***4***
