"We will take firm actions (against disloyal officials), even officials at the ministerial level," Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief Political, Legal and Security Minister, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, said state officials need to foster loyalty in the government and any disloyal state official, including ministers, will be sanctioned.

"We will take firm actions (against disloyal officials), even officials at the ministerial level," Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, noted after attending a cabinet plenary meeting led by President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Office on Wednesday.

He said loyalty and compactness were included in the agenda of the plenary session, which was also attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, ministers and three coordinating ministers.

Three ministers attended the meeting, namely Panjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, and the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Rizal Ramli.

"Regarding compactness, we will encourage more compactness and greater loyalty," Panjaitan said.

His task is to assure that all processes in the government and in the economic sector run well and without any hitch, the minister added.

Panjaitan said he would also ensure that no misinformation is generated in the political, legal and security fields and that they continue to function smoothly.

The minister plans to conduct a road show to encourage budget absorption in the region, so that there is no fear or worry among the regional governments while using the budget.

"The regional governments might become a crushing machine for worries or fear while trying to use of the budget," Panjaitan noted.

He also highlighted the relations between the government and the Parliament, which he said should remain harmonious.

"We must be prepared to accept constructive criticism," he added.

Panjaitan stressed that the government had done many things over the past seven months and is now working with full confidence.(*)
