Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Police seized 115 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 5,450 ecstasy pills during a two-week-long Nila Operation.

"In total, 23 suspects have been detained by the police," Director of Jakarta Polices Narcotic Criminal Investigation Department Senior Commissioner Eko Daniyanto noted here, Wednesday.

The arrested suspects comprise 17 Indonesians, three Chinese, and three Nigerians.

The police targeted 13 locations during Operation Nila carried out in Greater Jakarta.

"Most illicit drug cases were uncovered in North and West Jakarta," Daniyanto stated.

The police suspected that the meth and ecstasy pills were smuggled into Indonesia from Guangzhou through courier services using means of sea transportation to destinations around Dumai, Medan, and Riau on Sumatra Island.
