Doha (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo said the government has not cancelled its high speed train project between Jakarta and Bandung.

The government offered the project to investors and it would be on business to business scheme, the president said here on Monday.

"Any investors would be welcome," he said at a meeting with Indonesians in at the countrys embassy in Doha, Qatar.

He said the project would cost a lot of money at around Rp70 trillion-Rp80 trillion forcing the government to opt for the business to business scheme.

Originally the project were offered by the government to Japan and China, but the cost being too high had apparently forced the government to change the scheme to system

It would not use fund from the state budget and there would be no government guarantee , the president, who was on a working visit to number of Middle East countries, said.

"We better use the money if any from the state budget to finance construction of dams, but if investors are interested they will be welcome," he added.

He said ,"there are alternatives -- train with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour or one with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour, and political calculation."(*)
