Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) closed higher on positive regional sentiment, analysts said.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange rose 45.47 points or 1.06 percent to 4,378.38 points with index of 45 most liquid stocks up 1.65 percent to 740.96 points.

"Amid uncertainty over the plan of the Fed to raise its fund rate JCI rose to follow the regional sentiment," an analyst from Valbury Asia Securities Nico Omer Jonckheere said.

There are 225,262 transaction in trade on Thursday with 3.21 billion shares worth Rp3.83 trillion changing hand.

Regional markets such as Hang Seng recorded a decline in index but Nikkei and Straits Times recorded gain.(*)
