Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Hong Kong Special Administration Regions Chief Executive, currently on a visit to Indonesia, met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Merdeka Palace here on Thursday.

"We discussed three issues, namely investment, trade and protection of Indonesian migrant workers there (in Hong Kong)," President Jokowi told the press after receiving the Hong Kong leader.

Indonesia invited Hong Kong to increase its investment in Indonesia and also expressed the wish to increase its exports to Hong Kong.

"Besides, I express my gratitude for the protection granted to Indonesian migrant workers there," Jokowi stated.

Hong Kongs investment in Indonesia remains relatively small till date.

"Hong Kongs investment in Indonesia hovers around US$600 million, and is clearly very small," he said.

He offered opportunities to invest in projects such as seaport, electricity, toll roads and railway construction, to Hong Kong businessmen.

During the meeting, Indonesia conveyed to Hong Kong businessmen information about opportunities to invest in the country, Jokowi added.(*)
