Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has announced the fourth installment of the Economic Policy Package, for sectors related to employment, the development of the Peoples Business Credit (KUR) and export development by small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with the support of the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI).

"The third package is expected to be easily captured by the public and business," said Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Agung at the Presidents Office on Thursday.

Pramono announced the Economic Policy Package IV, along with the Minister for Economics Darmin Nasution, Minister of Labour Hanif Dhakiri and Minister of Finance Bambang PS Brodjonegoro.

The Economic Policy Package IV was announced after a closed-door meeting was held and chaired by President Jokowi and attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

"This policy package is aimed at creating jobs, especially through an increased influx of investment," Pramono said.

The earlier three installments of the policy package included the deregulation of the wage system, the expansion of KUR and lending by the LPEI to encourage SMEs to export and prevent layoffs.

Pramono also said that while the economy is recovering, the state will offer help to workers through the preparation of a social safety net.(*)
