More than 19 companies in various sectors will cooperate as part of the business deal."
Washington DC (ANTARA News) - Indonesian and American entrepreneurs reached a business deal in the presence of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. on Monday (October 26, 2015).

President Jokowi was present at the office of the US Chamber of Commerce to attend a business round table discussion and gala dinner with some 250 entrepreneurs and policy makers from Indonesia and the United States.

During a press conference at the Blair House in Washington D.C., Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi noted on Sunday that economic issues were President Jokowis main priority during the visit to the United States.

"More than 19 companies in various sectors will cooperate as part of the business deal," the minister said, adding that the business deal amounted to US$20.25 billion.

In the meantime, Indonesian Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Chief Franky Sibarani remarked that for the several business deals announced or signed, the process had lasted a long time.

"The process involved in some of the deals was very lengthy; but especially for deals in the non-energy sector, the process has reached a mature stage for finalization. President Jokowis visit to the United States is a good momentum for them," Sibarani affirmed.
