Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla assured here on Friday that Attorney General HM Prasetyo would not be replaced.

He said at his office that no letter has been prepared to replace him.

"You must not listen to rumors. You would be confused if you do. Rumors are everywhere," he said.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla said Attorney General Prasetyo is a good person.

He said he believed Prasetyo was not involved in the alleged case of corruption relating to social aid funds in North Sumatra. The scandal has led to former secretary general of the National Democrat Party (Nasdem), Patrice Rio Capella, and North Sumatra governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho being named as suspects.

Presetyo was once mentioned in a court session on September 17, 2015 by Gatots wife, Evy Susanti, and Gatots staff Mustafa who said Gatot wished that the alleged case of social aid funds corruption being handled by the North Sumatra prosecutors office could be referred to the Attorney General Office which is led by HM Prasetyo.

Prasetyo on Friday (October 30) stated that he had never met or had been in contact with Rio Capella. "About Rio Capella, I could not answer. Just ask KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission)," he said.(*)
