Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf M. Kalla officially inaugurated the 29th Congress of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) at the vice presidential palace, here, Wednesday.

Kalla in his opening remarks emphasized the need to improve infrastructure in remote regions, so that the public can have better access to medical services.

In his report, IDI Chairman Dr Zaenal Abidin said the congress is being held in Medan, North Sumatra.

The congress is themed "The Role of IDI in Improving Structured Medical Services in the Era of National Health Insurance." (*)
