Indonesia will also underscore the importance of renewable energy resources."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has stated that he will raise the need to reform global financial governance at the G20 Leaders Summit to be held in Turkey Sunday and Monday.

"At the G20 meeting, Indonesia will raise an important issue - the reform of global financial architecture," the President said at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta before departing for Antalya, Turkey, Saturday.

At the meeting themed "Ensuring Inclusive and Robust Growth through Collective Action," Indonesia will encourage the reform of global financial architecture, he said.

He once raised the issue during the Asia-Africa Summit held in Jakarta in April 2015, the President said.

"We also want to continue to encourage sustainable global economic growth and fair global economic governance," he said.

The other issue that will be discussed at the G20 summit will be climate change.

Indonesia will reiterate its commitment to take common steps along with other nations to address climate change, he said.

"Indonesia will also underscore the importance of renewable energy resources," he said.

As the worlds largest Muslim country and third largest democratic state, Indonesia will share its best experience in managing plurality, he said.

The G20 Summit this time is very important as the global economy is facing heavy challenges including the high volatility of the global financial market and the declining global commodity prices, he said.

Therefore, he felt it necessary to attend the G20 Summit.

In the course of the summit, Jokowi will hold bilateral talks with other G20 leaders.
