Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday evening to attend the ASEAN Summit 2015.

President Jokowi and Mme Iriana Joko Widodo, together with the entourage, left Jakartas Halim Perdanakusuma airport at 6.10 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB) and arrived at Kuala Lumpur Airport at 8.10 p.m. local time.

The President was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Resources Rizal Ramli and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

Earlier, Derry Aman, the director for dialog partners and ASEAN affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Jokowi is scheduled to attend 10 meetings, including two face-to-face meetings with ASEAN leaders and with representatives of ASEAN Business Council. He is also slated to attend the meeting between the leaders of ASEAN plus three (China, South Korea and Japan) and the East Asian Business Council.

"The President is also slated to attend other functions on the sidelines of the Summit. The meetings are still optional in nature, including, among others, the global investors dialog, the ASEAN business and investment meeting and the ASEAN Business Award 2015," he said.

Darry said in the meeting with the ASEAN leaders, Jokowi will raise two main issues, namely the importance of centrality principles and the ASEAN unity as well as the formation of a post-2025 ASEAN Vision.

Regarding the post-2025 ASEAN Vision, Derry explained that after entering the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) era at the end of 2015, the association needs to reflect on what it has achieved and what it should achieve as it moves ahead in the three areas that comprise ASEAN pillars, namely politics, economy and socio-cultural milieu.(*)
