Paris (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed the hope that relations with Serbia would further strengthen following his meeting with Serbian President Tomislav Nikoli on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris on Monday.

"Thank you for your good cooperation with us so far," President Jokowi said at the meeting.

He expressed the hope that the bilateral relations, continuing for the last 60 years, could be enhanced, particularly in the economic field.

Towards that end, he underscored the importance of intensifying trade and investment cooperation.

"There have been several Indonesian investors in Serbia," he said.

He also expressed the hope that Indonesian products will find wider market access in Serbia.

"I hope that the tariffs on Indonesian exports, which are too high, could be reviewed," he said.

He warmly welcomed President Nikolics plan to visit Indonesia next year.

"I hope that a Serbian business delegation will accompany him during the visit," he said.

The meeting between the two leaders took place at the venue of the 21st session of COP at Parc des Expositions du Bourget in Paris on Monday.

The COP 21 holds a significant meaning because it discusses the follow up action after the Kyoto Protocol comes to an end.(*)
