Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale jolted Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara on Monday at 4:54 a.m. local time.

"An earthquake again hit East Nusa Tenggara, particularly in Southwest Sumba this morning, after the previous tremor measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale jolted East Flores," Head of the Data and Information Section of the Kupang Meteorology Office Sumawan said here, Monday.

The quakes epicenter was located at 11.59 degrees Southern Latitude and 117.49 degrees Eastern Longitude, some 292 km southwest of Southwest Sumba, and at a depth of 10 km.

The earthquake did not have potential to trigger a tsunami. (*)
