Pontianak, W Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - Rescuers have found 12 bodies and are still on the lookout for two more victims after a long boat collided with a log and capsized in Kubu River, West Kalimantan, on Sunday.

"On the day of the accident, Sunday, we found four bodies, and on Monday, four more victims were discovered. This morning, four bodies were found. So, in total, we have found the bodies of 12 victims," Adjunct Senior Commissioner Arianto, the spokesman of the West Kalimantan police, revealed here on Tuesday.

The West Kalimantan authorities have deployed hundreds of personnel to search for the two missing victims.

The local police have detained the ill-fated boats skipper, 34-year-old Jainuddin, for not having a sailing license and no safety devices onboard the boat.

The Indo Kapuas Express boat, carrying 49 passengers, capsized on its way from Padang Tikar to Batu Ampar, after hitting a large log on Sunday morning.(*)
