The three officers of the Jakarta tax office were detained after being named suspects, the director of special crime investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Mujiyono, said here on Tuesday.
The police detained them after a search of two tax offices in the capital, he said.
He alleged that the three tax officers had been involved in tax embezzlement.
The suspects, identified by their initials as D and A, were arrested in Puri Kembangan, West Jakarta, after the police arrested a tax officer as he met with a taxpayer at a hotel in North Jakarta, he said.
The police also searched the West Jakarta tax service sub-office and the Jakarta tax service office to find evidence. (*)
