Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Constitutional Court has received 63 lawsuits over results of recent regional elections until Sunday.

According to data of the court, most of the lawsuits originated from district elections.

The Constitutional Court has started receiving lawsuits following recent simultaneous elections in 264 regions across the country since Wednesday (Dec 16). Filing of lawsuits over the elections results is open until December 22.

Until Sunday evening 54 lawsuits over district elections have been filed with the court in addition to nine others over city elections.

The court opens its office 24 hours a day to accommodate parties who are involved in conflict over results of the elections.

Indonesia organized simultaneous elections for the first time in 264 regions on December 9, to elect district heads, city mayors and provincial governors.(*)
