Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Constitutional Court (MK) received on Sunday night 25 more lawsuits against the results of simultaneous regional head elections held on December 9.

The figure brings to 88 the number of regional election disputes referred to the court until Sunday night at 09.56 p.m.

According to the courts information center, 24 of the lawsuits stemmed from district head elections and one from mayoral elections.

By 02.25 p.m. on Sunday, the number of lawsuits filed with the court against the results of regional head elections reached 63.

The Constitutional Court started receiving lawsuits against the results of the simultaneous elections in 264 regions across the country on December 16. It has set December 22 as the deadline to file lawsuits against the results of the elections.

The court opens its office 24 hours a day to accommodate parties who are involved in a conflict over results of the elections.
