Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA News)- Rescue workers have found one of the two missing passengers of an ill-fated long boat that capsized in Pasir Enam waters, here, Friday afternoon.
The body of Olov Waromi was found on Saturday at around 7 a.m. local time, while his son, Rudy Waromi, 6, was still missing, Head of the Jayapura Search and Rescue (SAR) Office Ludianto said, here.
Waromis body was sent back to Vietnam kampong, South Jayapura Sub-district, where the boat had departed.
"The joint SAR team is still looking for Rudy Waromi, Olov Waromis son," Ludianto told Antara.
Head of the Jayapura police resort Adjunct Senior Commissioner Jeremias Rontini earlier said the long boat capsized in Pasir Enam waters on Friday at 1:50 p.m. local time, after departing from Vietnam kampong, Argapura village.
The boat with 16 on board capsized after being hit by big waves off Tanjung Ria village,
Rescue workers and local volunteers are still searching for the missing child.(*)
