Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan held a meeting with Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Human Rights, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, to discuss investment security conditions in Indonesia.

"We talked about everything regarding FIR (flight information region), especially about the economic condition. She asked many questions about economic and security aspects as well," Panjaitan said here on Tuesday.

He explained to Balakrishnan the prospects of Indonesias economic growth which has reached 5.5 percent and the environment of security in Indonesia, which is conducive for foreign investors to do business in.

"People appreciate that it is known worldwide that Indonesia can guarantee the security of its own. So investors are comfortable to come to Indonesia," Panjaitan said.

He assessed that the security situation in Indonesia is good for investment, especially after the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

Panjaitan said the meeting also discussed the opportunities that the AEC offers for both countries, which are considered as ready to compete in free market.
