Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Malaysian Ambassador in Jakarta Dato Seri Zahrin Bin Mohamed Hashim stated the drastic decline in the number of rallies in front the neighboring countrys embassy here during the last two years made him glad.

"In the last two years the number of street rallies in front of the Malaysian embassy drastically reduced," Zahrin pointed out in his meeting with media chiefs and reporters at his residence on Tuesday night.

Zahrin, who served as ambassador of Malaysia to Indonesia during the last two years said that he did not hesitate to meet the protesters and listen to what they said.

"We communicate and prioritize people to people contact as we are aware that the protesters have limited information," Zahrin explained.

In addition, the foundation of the Malaysia-Indonesia Association (YIRMI) will help efforts to strengthen the two countries relations.(*)
