Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Two of the five perpetrators behind the bomb blasts in Central Jakarta were recidivists, who were previously involved in cases of terrorism, according to spokesperson of the National Police, Inspector General Anton Charliyan.

"Two of the alleged offenders are recidivists in cases of terrorism," Charliyan stated here on Friday.

Nevertheless, Charliyan did not elaborate on the terrorism cases involving the recidivists.

"We are certain that the terrorists who orchestrated the attacks in Jakarta on Thursday have links to the ISIS terror group," he affirmed.

Earlier, seven people were killed and 20 injured in the bomb blasts and shootout that occurred in a Starbucks Coffee shop and near the Sarinah departmental store located at Thamrin Boulevard, Central Jakarta, on Thursday morning.

Currently, the situation in Jakarta has recovered and is under control, according to Johan Budi, a presidential spokesman.

Budi stated that the security authorities have intensified early detection measures. He urged the public to not be easily provoked by terror incidents.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered a thorough investigation into the attack, and urged every party to not engage in speculations before the investigation is completed, according to the spokesman.
