Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said spending by government agencies reached Rp724.7 trillion or 91.1 percent of their total budget of Rp795.5 trillion in 2015.

"This is proportionally lower than in 2014 but nominally larger," Bambang told reporters here on Wednesday.

He said the spending grew significantly since the third quarter of 2015, after slowing in the previous quarters as a result of change in nomenclature of some ministries and other government agencies.

He said the ministries and agencies were considered to have succeeded in improving the quality of spending through control in budget revision, which gave priority for more productive activities.

He said there were internal and external factors influencing the budget spending in 2015.

Among internal factors included efficiency in cost by scrapping less important official travels and meetings, cancellation or delay in the implementation of activities and simplification of mechanism or organizational structure in the implementation of activities.

External factors included approval or disapproval by the Parliament of budget allocation, land clearing and delay in principal licenses and technical calculation of building construction.

The total budget fund for the ministries and other government agencies itself was changed or raise from Rp647.3 trillion set in the 2015 state budget to Rp795.5 trillion in the revised state budget of 2015.

The changes such as on the nomenclature of the government agencies including ministries were made in line with the visions of the president and change on sources of funds.(*)
