... I had explained that Indonesia is a country that can earn great appreciation ..."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla received some students of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy from Singapore at his office here on Tuesday who were seeking information on development in Indonesia.

"The students from Singapore want to know about the system of governance in Indonesia and about what we have done so far," the vice president remarked after receiving the students.

Kalla said he explained about economic issues to the students and the steps taken to improve political stability in Indonesia.

The vice president and the students also held a dialog on maintaining a balance between economic development and the environment.

In the meantime, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Kishore Mahbubani stated that the students had met the vice president to gain an understanding on how Indonesia has become one of the successful countries in the world.

"In my earlier remarks, I had explained that Indonesia is a country that can earn great appreciation due to the good track record of its social economy and political stability," he affirmed.

An important aspect about Indonesia, a big country in the world, is its culture of pluralism and has become a model for other countries.
