Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook Bolaang Mongondow. North Sulawesi province, on Thursday night, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said.

"The earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami. It was felt weakly by the people in Bolaang Mongondow Selatan district for two seconds," Head of BNPB Data and Information Center and Public Relations Service Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said in a short message text.

He said the earthquake which was centered 56 kilometers southwest of the district at a depth of 109 kilometers did not cause a panic to local people.

There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage. (*)
