Let us see."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government has no plan yet to revise its target of revenue it plans to earn from the tax amnesty scheme, Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla said here on Tuesday.

"Admittedly, that target is based on an assumption, and the actual revenue accrued can be higher or lower. Let us see," he stated before attending a limited meeting to evaluate the economic policy packages.

The target may change, depending on the realization of revenues from tax amnesty, he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro projected that the revenue from the tax amnesty scheme could reach Rp180 trillion based on the average assumed rate of 4 percent for those declaring and bringing back their wealth into Indonesia and 2 percent for those only declaring their wealth.

Although the tax amnesty has the potential to yield a revenue of Rp180 trillion, the government will be more conservative in setting the target of revenue from the tax amnesty in the revised 2016 state budget, he explained.

"We will put it in the revised state budget at around Rp165 trillion," he revealed.

The tax amnesty bill is currently being deliberated at the House of Representatives (DPR).

The tax amnesty is one of the instruments to bring back capital into the country and to increase tax revenue.
