"I want the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs to form a task force to ensure implementation, particularly in the regions, till these (policy packages) are properly operational," Jokowi said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is planning to set up a task force to ensure proper and expeditious implementation of the 12 economic policy packages issued by his administration.

"I want the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs to form a task force to ensure implementation, particularly in the regions, till these (policy packages) are properly operational," he said while chairing a limited meeting, held to evaluate the 12 policy packages, at the Presidential Office here on Tuesday.

The president made it clear that he does not want any hurdles in the implementation of these policy packages.

The priority programs, including policies incorporated in the policy packages, must be implemented, he directed, adding that he will run a check to see if these have been implemented according to the procedures.

"I will check and recheck the implementation of the packages to ensure that the packages work as expected," he vowed.

He noted that 193 out of 203 regulations incorporated in the 12 policy packages have been discussed.

"This means that 95 percent of the regulations have been discussed and only 10 regulations are still in the final phase of discussion," he stated said.

He expressed the hope that the policy packages will have a positive psychological impact, boosting the economic agents strong confidence in the national economy.

"This confidence must be guarded in a consistent and sustainable manner and must be reflected in a concrete change on the ground," he underlined.

He posited that the policy packages must lead to an increase in investment, a rise in the number of small and medium enterprises, industrial awakening and enhanced exports.(*)
