Bandung, W. Java (ANTARA News) - The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) will be holding the Indonesia Cyberkids Camp (ICC) 2016 in Sumedang, West Java, on July 2016.

"The program will be held in three phases. The ICC will select the best kids to be in the Indonesian delegation in the ASEAN Cyberkids Camp (ACC) that will be held from July 29-31, 2016," the Chairman of ICC 2016, Yusep Rosmansyah, said here on Thursday.

In the ICC, the participants will learn animation, games and computer application programs independently, based on certain themes using Scrath 1.4 programming software for kids.

According to Yusep, the program emphasizes the importance of studying and applying the 21st Century Skills for kids and will also prevent them from falling a prey to cyber crimes.

The 21st Century Skills are aimed at building creativity and innovation, critical thinking and ability to solve problems, he pointed out.

Yusep added that communication and collaboration are the important skills and participants will compete in these in the ASEAN Cyberkids Camp 2016. "The works should have original voice, music and words," he noted.

"We are now heading to global citizenship world. Integrity and honesty is very important capital to face the era. We have to instill these attitudes to the kids as early as possible," Yusep stated.(*)
