Solo, C Java (ANTARA News) - Solos Social Analysis and Research Institute (SARI), together with the Karanganyar Police Force, successfully rescued two women who had allegedly fallen victim to human trafficking.

Alsa Mutmah Inna (18) and Ria Febriani (22), both from Lape district, Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara, have been currently given shelter in the Solo SARI offices, said the head of the institutes Study, Child and Migrant Workers Foundation, Mulyadi, in Solo, Thursday.

He disclosed that the Foundation was contacted by one of the victims uncle, Sugito, who became suspicious about the victims whereabouts when one of them reached out to him on his cellphone.

Their tragic experience began when both Inna and Febriani were invited by a field officer of an Employment Services Agency (PJPTKI), PT Sekar Tanjung Lestari, named Syaif Hamdan, to work in Singapore.

They were lured with an offer of 6 million rupiahs per month salary. Both the women, related to each other, immediately agreed to join him at such a high salary as they needed the money.

On June 4, around midnight local time, they were picked up by Hamdan and dropped off at the PT Sekar Tanjung Lestari office in Sumbawa Besar, from where they were taken to Lombok the next day through Sultan Kaharudin airport in Sumbawa Besar.

According to Mulyadi, as soon as they arrived at Lombok International Airport, they were told to depart to Surabaya on board a Lion Air flight, while Hamdan hopped on to a different flight to Jakarta.

One of the victims, Inna, stated that once they arrived at the Juanda Airport, Surabaya, they were picked up by a man named Agus, and were immediately made to board a bus, where another perpetrator, named Sani, was waiting. They were then taken to Solo at 8 pm local time.

"Once we arrived in Solo, we were handed over to Candra by Sani, and were taken to a house on the Mandala V street, 03/05, Jumo district, Jaten, Karanganyar," she explained.

When she began to worry, she reached out to her aunt in West Nusa Tenggara, who then passed on the information to her uncle, Sugito.

Sugito then kept trying to get in touch with the victim and ended up making contact with the police force as well as the SARI Foundation to locate both the victims.

He states that the latest information at that time which he had about his nieces was that they were transferred from Solo to Karanganyar. The Karanganyar police force then took over the investigation, and raided the house located in Jaten district.

"The police raided the house, and both the victims were indeed found inside the house," Sugito affirmed. (*)
