London (ANTARA News) - The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has lauded the digital economic progress achieved by Indonesia, spokesperson of the Indonesian Embassy in Mexico Febby Fahrani informed Antara here on Thursday.

Fahrani said OECD Secretary General Angel Gurra had praised Indonesias digital economic growth on the sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Meeting on Digital Economy in Cancun, Mexico, which was also attended by Indonesian Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara.

According to Fahrani, Gurra told Rudiantara that the trend of boosting economic value through the digital economy in Indonesia was commendable.

The Indonesian communication and information minister is in Cancun since June 21 to attend the OECD ministerial meeting.

Rudiantara was specially invited to attend the OECD meeting to share information on the developments in digital innovation, which have made a positive impact on the peoples economy.

Indonesia is not an OECD member and an invitation extended to Rudiantara to attend the OECD meeting was a special honor for the nation.

At the OECD meeting, Rudiantara spoke of Indonesias efforts to develop its digital economy, including an e-commerce road map, compiled jointly by eight ministries and agencies to come up with more than 30 initiatives.
