"The accusation has certainly pushed us into a corner because what we have been doing so far is not connected with terrorism. Education imparted here covers academic, moral and patriotism aspects," the schools principal, Ahmad Fauzi, said here on Friday.
He added that the international standard school has never taught radicalism or extremism.
He deplored the Turkish governments accusation that the school is connected with FETO terrorist organization.
"We feel cornered because in the day-to-day operation, what we have been doing is not too different from what public schools do. Relations between parents and students are open to scrutiny," he stated.
He explained that the teaching material used by local and foreign teachers carry a message of peace and unity, and not of terrorism.
"The Pribadi Bilingual Boarding School Bandung is not a religious school. Ours is a general school and we teach tolerance and humanity," he clarified.
Ahmad informed that the school was established in 2002 and is managed by the Yenbu Indonesia Foundation. It has 450 students hailing from various regions in Indonesia.(*)
