Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has invited leaders and members of state agencies to continue to cooperate, to heed public criticism, and make self-improvement in order to gain the publics trust.

"Let the 71st anniversary of Indonesias Independence inspire us to win the competition, to serve humanity, and to achieve equitable progress," President Jokowi stated while delivering his State of the Nation Address at the annual session of the Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Indonesias Independence, here, Tuesday.

At the annual session led by MPR Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, President Jokowi also extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all state institutions.

"Teamwork and good cooperation have, so far, eased our efforts to carry out the mandate of the people," Jokowi affirmed.

The head of state noted that in support of the accelerated consolidation of democracy, which is based on the law, the Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, and Judicial Commission have continued to strengthen their performance.

"Productivity in terms of settling cases in the Supreme Court until the end of 2015 was the highest in the history of the court," the president pointed out.

Jokowi drew attention to the fact that the number of pending cases at the end of 2015 was also the lowest in history and indicated a steady decline in the number of pending lawsuits.

The president said that currently, information on no less than 1.8 million court rulings, right from the initial stage until the cassation ruling and judicial review, are available on the website of the Supreme Court.

The information on the handling of cases in courts of first instance, on appeal in the four jurisdictions throughout Indonesia, and the Supreme Court are also available on the website of each court.

"Thus, the public can now have greater access to court proceedings," the president noted while addressing the MPR members and other invited guests.

In addition, Jokowi remarked that in order to realize the Integrated Criminal Justice System, a database based on information technology had been developed.(*)
