Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State oil and gas company PT Pertamina saw its oil and gas production in the year to July 2016 averaging 640 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD), up 12 percent from 571 BOEPD in the same period last year.

The oil and gas production hike was fueled by a 148 percent surge in Cepu Blocks production to 77 thousand BOEPD from 31 thousand BOEPD, Pertamina Vice President for Corporate Communication Wianda Pusponegoro said here on Tuesday.

PT Pertamina EP Cepu, a subsidiary of Pertamina, holds 45 percent participation right in Cepu Block located in Bojonegoro district, East Java.

The increase was also contributed by a rise in consolidated oil and gas production of PT Pertamina Hulu Energy to 189 thousand BOEPD from 149 BOEPD previously.

The largest contribution to the oil and gas production came from PT Pertamina EP, reaching 119 thousand BOEPD between January and June 2016.

From its overseas fields, Pertamina through its subsidiary PT Pertamina International EP (PIEP) recorded oil and gas production at 119 thousand BOEPD from January to Juli 2016.

"The oil and gas production rose 8 percent from the same period last year at 110 thousand BOEPD," he said.(*)
