Mataram (ANTARA News) - The Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Film Artists (Parfi), AA Gatot Bradjamusti, and his wife, Dewi Aminah, have been named suspects in connection with a narcotic case.

"Based on the results of the questioning of witnesses and exposition of the case, the Mataram resort police have named GA (AA Gatot Bradjamusti) and his wife DA (Dewi Aminah) as suspects," head of public relations section of the West Nusa Tenggara regional police command, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Tri Budi Pangastuti, said here on Wednesday.

The decision was also in consonance with the evidence, believed to be narcotic substance, discovered in the personal belongings of the two suspects. It included a small packet found in the pocket of GAs trousers and another small packet in a blue bag belonging to DA.

Of the packets that contained white crystal powder, one had 0.98 grams of it while the other had 0.68 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine.

The urine test results have also confirmed that the two were involved in abusing narcotics, he stated.

Four other persons connected with the case and known by their initials as YY, RN, DN and RZ, would again be examined by the police, Tri Budi noted. "The investigation team, in cooperation with the forensic team of the Bali regional police command, will test their blood samples," he informed.

Tri Budi disclosed that the Mataram resort police have submitted the case related dossiers to the Narcotic Intelligence Directorate of the West Nusa Tenggara regional police command.

"Since the case has been under public scrutiny, we have submitted it to the regional police command," he explained.

The West Nusa Tenggara police command is coordinating with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command to jointly investigate the case.

"We are coordinating because it is possible that still more suspects could be involved," he added.(*)
