Hangzhou (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) warns of the impact of new industrial revolution, now being promoted by major industrialized nations.

"This is being launched by big nations," the president said after attending the G20 summit meeting here on Monday.

He said Indonesia must not miss that opportunity and has to play a role in it.

"We must not be left behind," he said.

President Jokowi said Indonesia must also seek to implement digital economy which is already adopted by many other countries.

China already has e-commerce company like the Alibaba Group and Huawei which operate communications and information technology, he cited.

"We must be quick to follow the lead like Alibaba and Huawei. Actually Indonesia already has local market place that could be used as a foundation to enter the world digital economy," he added.

The President also hopes that the result of G20 summit meeting, which ended on Monday could be implemented that the country would not be lagging far behind advanced nations.

He said he supported efforts for economic recovery and cooperation among countries to push for the global economic growth.(*)
