Vientiane (ANTARA News)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the ASEAN Leaders Retreat along with leaders of nine ASEAN members on day two of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits held at the National Convention Center (NCC) here, Wednesday.

"Today, the agenda is very tight because in addition to the retreat, there will be six meetings of ASEAN Plus dialog partners, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi stated here, Wednesday.

At the retreat, every leader was accompanied by two high-ranking officials. President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

During the ASEAN plenary meeting on Tuesday, Jokowi highlighted the importance of centrality and unity of the ASEAN, stressing that the ASEAN could not be dictated by big countries with vested interests in the region.

"Certainly," the minister said in response to the press question on whether the president would reiterate his above statement.

President Jokowi is also scheduled to attend the 19th ASEAN-China Summit to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-China dialog relations, the 19th ASEAN-Japan Summit, the 18th ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit, the 19th ASEAN Plus Three Summit, the First ASEAN-Australia Summit, and the 8th ASEAN-UN Summit.
