Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Learning (Kemristekdikti) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) have strengthened a joint committee to improve the quality of education, research, and health services in Indonesia, officials said.

"The joint committee is coordinating steps between Kemristekdikti and Kemenkes in the field of health education," Kemristekdikti spokesman Ali Ghufron Mukti remarked here on Friday.

He explained that higher education and health care had to be managed in a sustainable, unified manner.

Education to match the needs of health care is very important for health care development and for meeting the demand for competitive health care personnel in this era of globalization.

"(We need) a dynamic advanced health education and health care system that work together in a synergistic way," he said, adding that the main task of the joint committee is to formulate a policy for hospital management and to serve as a vehicle for education and research.

In addition, the joint committee will ensure coordination in policy and education development.(*)
