Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will hold a meeting with the Chairman of Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto in Bojongkoneng, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday.

"That's right, the president will meet Mr. Prabowo," Head of the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmuddin said in response to the press question.

Earlier, information from Gerindra said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan will accompany Jokowi for the meeting. Like Subianto, Pandjaitan also a high rank military officer based on Komando Pasukan Khusus TNI AD.

Subianto welcomed the initiative to hold the meeting at noon.

In the afternoon, Jokowi will hold a meeting with chiefs of 35 mass media at the Presidential palace.

There is no official information about the topic of discussion during both the meetings, but it is likely that the president will raise the issue of the upcoming major demonstration by a number of Muslim organizations scheduled for November 4, demanding the government to take legal action against Jakarta Governor Basuki Thahaja Purnama (Ahok) for blasphemy concerning the Holy Quran. *
