Medan, N. Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Brigade Mobil Corps (Brimob) of North Sumatran Police has seized 9 kilograms of methamphetamine from a drug dealer at Medan Deli Sub-district.

The Head of North Sumatra Police Inspector General Amelza Dahniel said here on Monday that the arrest of the drug dealer FK (38) was held on Saturday (Oct 29) at 17.30pm local time.

The dealer was living in Jalan Kawat Lingkungan IX of Tanjung Mulia Hilir Village of Medan Deli Sub-District.

The investigation began after Brimob officers arrested FK in Tanjung Mulia Village as he brought a kilogram of methamphetamine.

The police also seized a motorcycle belonging to FK.

The security officers had also discovered 8 kilograms of methamphetamine after inspecting his residence.

According to FK, he obtained the methamphetamine from a drug dealer who has already been included to the Brimob blacklist.

The Brimob officers have handed over FK to the Drug Investigation Directorate of North Sumatra Regional Police.

The suspect has been charged for drug possession and faces 20 years in jail.(*)
