Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Directorate of Narcotics Crime Investigation is looking out for a suspect R, who is believed to receive the delivery of one ton of marijuana uncovered from a truck at Bambu Apus toll road exit.

"We are still looking out for the suspect R. Hopefully, by Monday night, he would be captured," Senior Commissioner John Turman Panjaitan, the director of the office, said here on Monday.

He said that the police hunted R based on the confession by the truck driver MDH and his accomplice MY, who were held by the police for carrying the drug for distribution.

John said MDH and MY were ordered by NAM to take the marijuana from Aceh, Sumatra, to Jakarta, which would then be received by R.

Members of Unit IV and Special Team from the Sub-Directorate II of the Directorate of Narcotic Crime Investigation stopped the truck with plate number B9290-AD and searched it at the exit of the JORR Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, on Sunday. They discovered marijuana, weighing around one ton, ready for distribution. They also confiscated a cell phone from the truck.

They then arrested MDH (44) hailing from Uteun Bayu, Bandar Dua, in the district of Pidie Jaya, Aceh, and MY (39) from Meurah Dua, Pidie Jaya Aceh. (*)
