Jakarta (ANTARA News) - KPK has investigated a Jakarta leading lawyer Hotma Sitompoel over corruption case in the mega project of electronic identity card (KTP) procurement under the Home Affairs Ministry in 2011-2012.

"Hotma Sitompoel, from the Law Office of Hotma Sitompoel and Associates, is questioned as a witness in the case with Sugiharto as a suspect," head of the public relations department of KPK Yuyuk Andriati said here on Tuesday.

Hotma refused to answer question when he arrived at the KPK office.

On November 14 this year KPK already questioned Hotmas junior from his law office Mario Cornelio Bernardo as a witness in the case.

Hotma was a lawyer of the Home Affairs Ministry. He once said that the E-KTP project had been implemented according to the regulation . He denied any markup in the price as alleged by a number of consortium to the Commission Controlling Business Competition in 2011.

According to Hotma, the value of the project of Rp5.9 trillion was "very" efficient based on own calculation, which had been examined by the Government Financial and Development Watchdog BPKP.

So far KPK has named two suspects in the case, former director general of Population and Civil Registration Irman and former director of Population Administration Information Management of the Ministry Sugiharto.

KPK, however, said it believes there are more suspects in the price markup case.

The winner in E-KTP procurement tender was the consortium of Percetakan Negara RI grouping with state printing company Perum PNRI, state owned surveillance company PT Sucofindo, state-owned electronic company PT LEN Industri, PT Quadra Solution and PT Sandipala Arthaput.

Earlier it was reported that a U.S. company PT Biomort has complained to the Home Affairs Ministry which was in charge of project that PT Quadra Solution had not paid it US$90 million for the price of its sub-contract.

KPK said the ministry already paid the price to Quadra Solution, which was responsible for the procurement of hardware and software for the project.

Former Democratic Party treasurer M. Nazaruddin said PT. Quadra was included in the consortium only because it was owned by a crony of Irman .

Nazaruddin was quoted as saying that one of the tender winners was owned by Paulus Tannos, who was close to former Home Affairs Ministry Gamawan Fauzi.(*)
