Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police confirmed here on Saturday that three suspected terrorists have been arrested at a lodging house in Bekasi, West Java.

"It is true that at around 15.40 on Saturday three people - two men and one woman - have been arrested," Head of Public Information of the National Police, Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul, said.

The three who were arrested were found at a lodging house on Jalan Bintara Jaya VIII, Bekasi, are NS, AS and DYN (the woman).

Also, a live bomb was discovered in the house, and is now being removed by the police, he said.

Martinus explained that the arrests were made after police anti-terrorist squad Densus 88 members followed NS from Solo to Jakarta.

Upon arrival in Jakarta, the car that carried NS then picked up DYN in Pondok Kopi and they were seen carrying a card box.

DYN then was taken to a post office in Bintara to mail the box. Later, when the box was checked by Densus 88 members, it was found to contain clothing and a letter from DYN to her parents.

"In the letter, DYN expressed her readiness to carry out amaliyah (service)," Martinus said.

From the post office, NS, AS and DYN returned to the lodging house on Jalan Bintara Jaya III, Bekasi, where DYN then dropped off a black backpack and entered Room 104.

NS and AS then left the house, though they were being followed.

At around 15.40 they were arrested under the Kalimalang flyover, while at 15.50 DYN was arrested at her home.

"A bomb was found in the room and kept in a black backpack. The bomb was to be detonated at the State Palace during a change of duty of presidential security. An investigation is still underway," Martinus said.
