Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is to leave for India on Sunday evening for a two-day state visit.

The Head of State and his entourage will depart from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force in eastern Jakarta.

From India, Jokowi will visit Iran on December 14.

The two visits are to reciprocate the visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Jakarta in October 2013, and the Iranian Presidents visit to Indonesia in April 2015.

Jokowi is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on Monday.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry earlier said the visits to India and Iran are important because the two countries have potential to establish major cooperation with Indonesia.

India is Indonesias fourth largest trade partner of Indonesia in the world, and the largest in South Asia.

In 2015, the trade balance between Indonesia and India reached 14.45 billion US dollars.

During the visit, Indonesia will explore further the diversification of exports to India.

President Jokowi will also discuss efforts to step up cooperation in investment for pharmaceutical industry.
