Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian ISIS fighter Bahrun Naim has been actively building his cells in Indonesia and recruiting new members, including the suspect MNS who was arrested in Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday.

"Bahrun Naim has been actively contacting his cells, including MNS and DYN," Senior Commissioner Awi Setiyono, head of the Cooperation Bureau of the National Polices Public Information Services, revealed at the Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Bahrun is teaching his cells how to construct bombs and build networks by communicating through social media, he stated.

"They communicate through social media, by using the application called Telegram. Bahrun disseminates information on how to construct explosives," he noted.

Bahrun is suspected to have been building and watching the whereabouts of his cells in Indonesia.

On Saturday, the Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested three alleged terrorists, including MNS and AS, both males, and DYN, a female.

MNS and AS were arrested on a flyover road in Kalimalang, Bekasi, while DYN was arrested in a rented flat in Bintara Jaya 8 road, Bekasi, West Java.

The authorities found a home-made explosive disguised as a rice cooker in room number 104.

Jakarta Polices bomb unit detonated one of the three active bombs found at the crime scene on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, a suspected terrorist with the initials S, aka Abu Izzah, was arrested in the Sabrang Kulon Matesih area of Karanganyar sub-district, Solo, East Java.

On Sunday, the detachment arrested three more alleged terrorists, presumed to be part of MNS network.

All three were arrested in different areas.

KF, aged 22, was taken into custody in Ngawi sub-district, East Java while APM, aged 25, was arrested in Solo, Central Java, and WP, aged 24, was arrested in Klaten, Central Java.

Bottles containing liquid chemicals, a laptop, a cellphone, and jihad-themed books were found during a search of KFs flat.

A provisional examination reveals that all seven suspects are highly likely to be members of Bahrun Naims network.(*)
