"There are two alleged female terrorists who were prepared as would-be suicide bombers, including DYN, who was arrested in Bekasi, West Java, and IP, captured in Purworejo, Central Java," a police spokesman said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A terrorist network linked to ISIS had planned to carry out an attack at the presidential palace using two women as suicide bombers.

"There are two alleged female terrorists who were prepared as would-be suicide bombers, including DYN, who was arrested in Bekasi, West Java, and IP, captured in Purworejo, Central Java," a spokesman of Indonesian Police Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul said here on Monday.

Dian Yulia Novi (DYN), alias Ayatul Nissa Binti Asnawi, 27, a housewife, was prepared to become a "bride", to carry out a suicide bombing at the presidential complex on December 11.

Initial investigations showed that the MNS network had allegedly planned to detonate the bomb at the weekly Presidential Security (Paspampres) ceremony in the State Palace compound, which has been open to the public since August this year.

In addition to DYN, Ika Puspitasari (IP), a villager from Brenggong Village, Purworejo district, was also prepared as a suicide bomber. She was arrested in her home village last Thursday.

Martinus said IP was prepared to carry out the bombing at a location outside Java, but he refused to elaborate further, noting, "We are still investigating."

As of Monday, the police has arrested 14 terrorist suspects from the MNS network in a number of areas. They remain under police investigation.

DYN, MNS, and one other person, identified by the initials AS, were arrested on Saturday, December 12.

Police report finding a hand-made rice cooker bomb in DNYs rented house in Bekasi, just outside of Jakarta, last Saturday.(*)
