Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The National SAR Agency of Bandung said the institution was still counting the total loss that occurred due to the flash flood in Kuningan District of West Java Province last Sunday.

"No casualties were reported as a result of the coordination that we had conducted with the local residents," the Coordinator of Public Relation of SAR Bandung, Joshua Banjarnahor, said here on Monday.

According to Banjarnahor, the flood has damaged buildings and swept away several properties.

The flood had hit six villages such as Sindang Jawa, Cipondok, Sukaharja, Cibingbin, Citenjo and Dukuhbadag.

The disaster also forced several villagers to evacuate to other areas, including the hall of Mosque Al Barokah of Citenjo Village and the office building of Cibingbin Sub-district.

Banjarnahor added the SAR officers were still counting the total number of evacuees.

"Today, the flood has receded. We will relocate the evacuees soon," he stated.

A joint team consisting of SAR personnel, Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency, Police and Indonesian Military was being deployed to oversee the disaster.

The flood occurred due to the overflowing of River Cijangkelok on Sunday.

The flood has caused the water level to rise from approximately 30 centimeters to 1 meter.(*)
