Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government has dispatched five thousand metric tons of rice to Sri Lanka as a grant.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) saw off the dispatch of rice in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta, on Tuesday.

The rice was shipped to Sri Lanka from the Tanjung Priok Seaport.

President Jokowi was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi, State Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Head of the Presidential Staff Office Teten Masduki, President Director of the National Logistics Board Djarot Kusumayakti, and a representative of the Government of Sri Lanka.

The president was later scheduled to chair a limited cabinet meeting to evaluate the implementation of national strategic projects and priority programs in Central Kalimantan and North Sulawesi.(*)
