Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Rully Rudolf Nere, national soccer player in 1980s, was officially appointed as coach of Indonesias women soccer squad which will compete in the women AFF cup 2017 in Thailand from May 26 to June 4, 2017.

"I have been officially appointed as coach of the national women team. It is a challenge to me as well as an opportunity to develop the women soccer," Rully told ANTARA here on Tuesday.

Rully said that he signed the working contract as coach at the office of the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) on Tuesday (Feb 14), and the working contract will last for six months or will come to an end in August 2017.

Regarding who would be his assistant, Rully stated that he would discuss this matter with the PSSIs Technical Director of the national soccer team Danurwindo.

Rully further said his readiness to meet the demand of PSSI that wants the women team to emerge as the top four in the upcoming AFF Cup.(*)
