Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A drug kingpin in Medan, North Sumatra Province, identified as AB, was found dead in his car, after it was chased and shot at by the National Narcotics Agencys (BNN) personnel here on Sunday.

"As the kingpin continued to escape in a car, the BNNs personnel gave a warning shoot, but the suspect did not stop. The car later hit the pavement at a red light intersection in the Ngumban Surbakti street at came to a halt," police inspector general Arman Depari, the BNN Deputy for Eradication affairs, told Antara here on Monday.

The BNNs personnel rushed AB to a hospital after they found him in the car with gunshot wounds.

AB later died in the hospital. The BNNs personnel also found 26 kilograms of methamphetamine in the car, Depari explained.

Additionally, the BNNs personnel also arrested another drug dealer suspect, identified as BEN, and confiscated 6 kilograms of methamphetamine from him.

The total methamphetamine confiscated by the BNNs personnel from both suspects, allegedly coming from Malaysia, reached 32 kilograms. (*)
